Mushy Gushy is extremely silly, but a very neat concept. Essentially, the site allows you to upload photos and insert your head (and a loved-one’s, if appropriate) onto a cartoon body. The result is an animated ecard that follows the well-known JibJab cartoon marionette style.

From a design perspective, the “head transplant” tool makes a fairly complicated task seem simple — the extraction of a facial image from a photo, which is then sized and positioned appropriately so that it works within the storyboard of the various available ecards.

All in all, a good laugh for someone’s birthday, anniversary, etc…

Note: Apparently, JibJab offers a similar function as Mushy Gushy. I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks equally amusing.
