CyBuy engaged Catalyst to determine whether or not consumers were capable of
understanding and using their innovative new email marketing technology.
To accomplish this, we designed and developed prototypes of three alternative
interface approaches. The prototypes offered consumers a purchase
opportunity in an email, and the goal of the test was to identify the design
that was most effective at communicating the process and was perceived as
most secure from the shopper's perspective. The tests revealed that users
felt strongly positive about the convenience of this new technology, and, based
on our testing, the clear communication of this value became a key component of
the company's strategy.
