Happy New Year! And… Sorry!
Happy New Year to all the loyal CoFactors readers who have stuck with us through what I will now refer to as our “dark period” — i.e. the last 6 weeks or so during which we have cruelly deprived you all of our wit, wisdom, and whatever else you are able to glean from this collection of usability insights.
The fact is that we set ourselves the fairly daunting task of designing and building a new in-house testing lab [more about this in a later post] at about the same time as the usual 4th quarter crush was starting to hit. Ugh. As anyone who blogs — not for a living, but as a sort of semi-official, evangelistic, exploratory, word-spreading kind of pastime — can attest, when too many balls are in the air, the blog ball is the first to hit the turf. Sure, we could have trotted out a lame one-paragraph observation of something or other; or offered our “take” on a well-covered news item with only minor relevance to our company or our practice. Even worse, we could have stockpiled a bunch of random posts just to slot in when the brain-well ran dry. But you deserve better and we think too highly of you to stoop to those tactics.* If we’re too busy with the work that pays the bills to craft posts of genuine interest and value to you, the reading public, you’ll just have to go without. Sorry, but it’s for your own good.
Anyway, we’re back and better than ever. Ready to serve up that unique CoFactors combination of learnin’ and fun. If you’re still with us, then thanks for staying. If not… then how are you reading this?
All the best for a healthy and happy 2006!
* Of course, we still reserve the right to do any or all of this at any time in the future
